Plants. Great Bardfield is a countryside plant nursery and shop, independently owned and proudly rooted in the fields of North Essex. Tucked behind The Blue Egg in Great Bardfield, we grow over 20,000 plants each year, offering a grounded and honest approach to horticulture. Since opening in the spring of 2016, we’ve welcomed both trade and public customers with a focus on quality, service, and the beauty of plants.

We retail a thoughtfully curated selection of homegrown and locally sourced outdoor plants — including perennials, roses, trees, shrubs, and seeds — alongside a considered range of pots, compost, tools, and National Garden Gift Vouchers. Our offering is supported by the horticultural knowledge, garden care, and landscape design services of our award-winning parent company, County Garden Management — a nationally recognised horticultural practice managing gardens and estates across Essex and beyond.
